Leonbergers von Stutensee
Hello, I'm Waltraut Zieher the owner of Kennel von Stutensee.
I came to the United States from Germany in 1984 with my family and have owned Leonbergers since that time. We currently have four Leonbergers: Myakka von Stutensee, Nockerl von Stutensee, Cera Loewe von Walthall and Xerox von Lowengarten.
I am a founding member of the Leonberger Club of America (LCA) and have served on the club's board of directors. I also have chaired the LCA breeding committee and have served as a member of the committee for several years. In 2005, I serverd as the chairperson of the LCA 20th Anniversary National Speciality in Austin, Texas. I am active in the regional Leonberger organization, the Frontier Leonberger Club of the Southwest and have held several positions within the club.
With my daughter Ute and with Carol Lewis, I started the Health, Research & Education Committee (HREC) of the LCA, served as chair, and continue to serve as an advisory member.
In 2002, I founded the Leonberger Health Foundation (LHF) and have served as its president for the past five years. The LHF is dedicated to insuring the long term health of the Leonberger breed through increasing knowledge and understanding of canine diseases.
I was trained in Germany as a Leonberger specialty judge and have judged regional specialties in the United States.
At my Kennel von Stutensee, we have successfully bred seventeen Leonberger litters. The Q-Litter, seven girl pups and four boy pups, was born April 1, 2007. There are pictures of this beautiful litter in the gallery. See how they have grown!
